Well, I decided it was well past time I did some TBR cleaning. I have over 600 books on there and honestly, probably half of them could disappear. What better way to do this than a weekly meme? This one is brought to you by Lost In A Story. Hope you enjoy this is much as I did!
All summaries are from Goodreads.
Here are the rules:
- Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
Total books on To-Read shelf = 674. Yikes!
Wow, talk about a classic! This one seems to be extremely controversial and frankly, might be a little too much for me. However, the premise is very intriguing and I’m not one to pass over a good classic. Most of the reviews from my friends on Goodreads sound really good. This one is going to stay.
2. Schindler’s List by Thomas Keneally
Another classic over here. Schindler’s List is a book I’ve heard of many, many times but I’ve honestly never thought to pick it up. After reading the synopsis on Goodreads just now, I 100% want to keep this on there. One of my favorite historical things to read about is World War 2. I’m going to keep this one.
3. Looking for Alaska by John Green
I have to admit I’ve never read a John Green book. I saw A Fault in Our Stars on TV, but wasn’t really into it. I get the feeling that his books are kind of cliche… that may be far off base, but I’m not really into typical contemporaries.
I was 100% going to remove this from my TBR, but after seeing reviews from my Goodreads friends, I think I need to give it a shot. I’m going to leave it.
An Enchantment of Ravens is a book that was all over Booktube for awhile, but started getting many sub par reviews. Either people loved it or hated it. If I had money to just cover buy books, I’d definitely buy this one. It’s seriously gorgeous. Unfortunately the reviews aren’t selling me, and I’m going to pass on this one.
That’s all I have time for right now. Now that I know how horrifying my TBR is, I’ll have to do this more often!
